A meeting between a Belgian accordionist and a Swedish nyckelharpist, who play tunes tinged with their traditional language as well as their own musical personalities. In the hands of Sophie Cavez and Josefina Paulson, the priority is always the pulsating rhythm and each note is oriented towards the groove. With the rich harmonics of the sympathetic strings of the nyckelharpa, which blend
with the warm chords and powerful bass lines of Sophie’s accordion, they
create soundscapes and a garden of music, both for your ears to find peaceful rest and the joy and space to move your body while dancing. Sophie and Josefina have played together a lot in the quartet SIRUS which was born from a collaboration between the two powerful duos Cavez / Montanaro and Paulson / Åkerlund. After the release of their album Lummen, the quartet members took new paths and Sophie and Josefina decided to explore the possibilities of merging their two voices together. Reflecting life, as mothers, musicians and human beings, in new compositions for this project, they invite you to join them on their journey.
