We are Léa & Sébastien. Originally from the Southwest, we fell into the traditional dances and music of Gascony from a very young age. We learned to dance first through folklore and then in bal. Our dance practice has evolved between local immersion and formal teaching, during the courses and workshops we have participated in. In recent years, the dances of the Southwest have experienced a strong craze and have multiplied on the folk scene. We are delighted to see that they are now danced in the four corners of France. Yet, where do they come from? What are they? How are they danced? What are their subtleties? During this workshop, we will try to use our experience to answer these questions by sharing with you our practice and interpretation of these dances. So we will offer for three hours to (re)see 4 very well-known dances, namely: the Rondeau en couple, the Congo de Captieux, the Rondeau en chaine and the Branle en chaine from the Ossau valley.
