With : Yannis DE MICHELIS & Swanhilde ABELE
WHERE : CCNR
WHEN : Saturday 13h30 – 16h

- Description: We’ve noticed that many dancers have uncomfortable postures and ways of dancing, both for themselves and their partners: tension, heaviness, poor balance, etc. This workshop aims to develop body awareness to adjust postures, regain balance, and cultivate comfort in our dances. We’ll use breath to take the time to connect with ourselves, others, the group, and the music, releasing tension in the body for comfortable and fluid movement. Inspired by our martial arts practices, we’ll offer exercises and games to develop body awareness and breath control to enrich our dances.
- Prerequisite level: all levels
Biography:
- Swanhilde: “Navigating between contemporary and folk dance, and martial arts since childhood, I want to share a dance that explores sensitivity, connection to music, and relationships with others. I am also a herbalist; taking care of myself and others plays a significant role in my life.”
- Yannis: “I have been an artist for about ten years and have cultivated a mind-body awareness since adolescence through the practice of martial arts, improvisational theater, and creative arts. Today, I wish to share my unique sensitivity to music and movement, as well as my curiosity and unconditional love for dance.”
