It’s time to participate in the Musical Composition Challenge! This year it will be a WALTZ!

Open to all and to all instruments. This year, it is about composing a WALTZ, especially for the occasion (original). Then record it solo and send it by email before March 30, 2025 at the latest to the following address: defi.funambal@gmail.com.
This WALTZ must be two sentences long (AB).
It will be evaluated on the following criteria: Composition – Relation to dance – Execution. Only the melody will be taken into account (it can be harmonized but this will not weigh in the balance). And, in order to guarantee maximum fairness between the instruments, at least one entire theme must be presented without harmony.
The principle is double-blind: the names of the jury members will be revealed during the festival and they will not know the names of the musicians they are listening to before their deliberations.
The name of the winner will be announced on Friday evening. He/she will have to come and play on stage during the Saturday evening to play his/her piece, solo or accompanied (possibility of making a small arrangement).
This challenge is proposed in a friendly spirit, in order to offer a small emulation for musicians, WHATEVER THEIR LEVELS. Indeed, it will not be the most complex or the most technical pieces that will be retained, but those whose spirit and dance will have pleased the most.
