Spice up your dance

with : Hugo GUTTIEREZ et Manou BENOIT

WHERE : Le tapis Volant Salle 5

WHEN : 11h 13h

Description : Hugo and Manou invite you to spice up your partner dancing!

We’ll begin by taking time to connect with each other and pay attention to your partner’s weight—valuable foundations for dancing with more presence and comfort.

From there, we’ll explore different ways to bring joy to your partner dancing: body isolations to resonate with the music in different parts of the body, footwork inspired by forró, and small variations to enrich your vocabulary while maintaining the pleasure of communication between you.

A workshop for those who want to add texture, musicality, and a touch of playfulness to their dancing.

Niveau pré-requis: Public not beginner

  • Hugo: “A passionate dancer, I have dedicated myself for several years to teaching Forró and traditional dances, which are rich in encounters and collective energy. My journey has led me to explore different forms of Forró while enriching my practice of traditional dances and repertoires. Today, I teach with the desire to make these dances accessible to everyone, regardless of their level. My teaching method is centered on the connection between partners, consent (offering without imposing, listening to boundaries and adjusting), and cultural grounding.”
  • Manou: I have always danced. First for pleasure, or to feel my body, naturally. Then, since the age of 12 and the discovery of traditional dances, I dance to share with others, through hands, back, and body, through laughter and spontaneity, without pressure, without being watched, just to feel good. Sometimes dance is therapy, a refuge, an outlet when things are going well and when they aren’t.” And now, on stage. I like things that touch, vibrate, ripple.
